21st Century Views on DADT
As part of the large push to overturn Dont Ask Dont Tell we are gathering names to give to the White House and Congress to let them know now is the time to overturn this discriminatory policy.
Dear [ Decision Maker ] , We the undersigned, who have served American Armed Forces in the 21st Century, support a repeal of Dont Ask, Dont Tell. We call on President Obama to take advantage of the opportunity he now has to get rid of Dont Ask, Dont Tell in his Defense budget. We also call on Congress to join him in repealing the law. We know that todays military is professional and strong, and will continue to be so when troops are allowed to serve openly. As 21st Century veterans, we know that unit cohesion is not a concern if this policy is repealed. What is and will continue to be a concern is making sure that our overextended military has as many able and qualified people to defend America, its people, and its Constitution at this critical time.
