Save Our Environment
Urge Congress to Pass a Strong Clean Energy Bill!

This summer we achieved two major victories. In June the Senate passed an Energy Bill requiring automobiles go farther on a tank of gas and in August the House passed an Energy Bill requiring electric utilities to obtain more power from clean, renewable sources-such as the wind and sun. This is truly an exciting time. This fall we have the opportunity to help pass the strongest energy bill to date.

However, while Congress was on August recess, the auto industry was working hard to undermine these important victories. Now we need to counter their voice in Congress with our own!

Fill out the form below to remind your members of Congress that you support a Clean Energy Bill with strong standards for fuel economy and renewable energy!

Subject: The Energy Bill must include strong fuel economy AND renewable electricity standards

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

In the next several months the House and Senate will reconcile the two different versions of the Energy Bill. Please accept nothing less than the Senate's position on fuel economy and the House's sound renewable electricity standard--a concept already approved by the Senate several times in the past.

These smart, practical initiatives would save me and my family money on the cost of gasoline and electricity, create new jobs, and reduce America's global warming pollution.

I urge you to protect America's energy, environmental, and economic security by ensuring that the final Energy Bill that goes to the president includes the Senate-passed 35 mile per gallon fuel economy standard AND the House-passed 15 percent renewable electricity standard. Anything less is unacceptable.

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
