Subject: Pass Small Business Health Plan Legislation
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
As a small business person in your state I am concerned that nearly 46 million Americans are without health insurance coverage. Of those, more than 60% either work for a small business or are dependent upon someone who does.
Now, there's a bill before the U.S. Senate (S. 1955) that helps to address this enormous challenge. If S.1955 passes, millions more Americans will finally have access to affordable health insurance.
The current insurance delivery system does not work for small employers and the self-employed. In the small business market, the numbers of companies offering coverage are limited, at best. Small business health plans are an equitable alternative. By allowing small businesses and the self-employed to pool together, just like large corporations, they would be able to negotiate robust, affordable insurance plans for their members with the nation's insurers.
This is a critical issue facing America today and it is important to me. The number of uninsured families who live and work in our communities is increasing, not decreasing. It's time to reverse this trend.
As a constituent, I urge you to vote for S. 1955, the Small Business Health Plan legislation. Your vote will provide millions of hard working American families greater access to affordable health care coverage.
Sincerely,
|
