Dear
Friend,Thanks so much to everybody who participated in the epic Day of Action Against Mountaintop Removal (MTR) last week. There were actions across the country, including all 9 EPA offices and the JP Morgan Chase headquarters (JP Morgan Chase is the largest funder of mountaintop removal coal mining). As part of a national day of action to stop mountaintop removal coal mining, 14 activists staged a sit-in at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) headquarters in Washington, D.C., while 50 others rallied in front of the building. You can also check out the zombies in San Francisco, ghosts in Chicago and other reports from the Day of Action at http://understory.ran.org/ Help Save Coal River Mountain Last week, Massey Energy, a coal company, began dynamiting Coal River Mountain in West Virginia - the site of a proposed 328-megawatt wind farm - to prepare for a massive mountaintop removal coal mining operation. Organizations across the nation are joining forces with RAN to send a powerful message to the Obama Administration to stop the blasting on Coal River Mountain and protect our clean energy resources. You can join us in helping to save Coal River Mountain by emailing key officials in the Obama Administration and asking them to do everything in their power to stop the blasting of Coal River Mountain, the area's last mountain untouched by mountaintop removal.
