Greetings!
Thank you for your support of Verizon’s
efforts to provide FiOS TV service in parts of east Multnomah
County!
More than 100 Verizon advocates attended a public hearing of
the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission on September 15. And
scores of you signed our online petition in favor of cable
choice and competition.
Your enthusiasm for cable choice and competition in Fairview,
Gresham, Troutdale, Wood Village and east county impressed our
elected leaders and got the attention of local media. Both the
Oregonian and the Gresham Outlook newspapers covered the hearing
in detail.
Here’s where we stand:
At its Oct. 2 meeting, the commission adopted a
recommendation that Verizon work directly with the communities
to complete the remaining terms of the franchise. That
work is underway and we hope to have final franchise agreements
before City Councils as soon as possible.
Your help is still needed!
Tell your friends and family to visit www.verizon.com/or and
sign our online petition*. This is a fast and
efficient way to ensure our elected leaders hear from you on
this important franchise.
Watch your e-mail. We will update you on our progress.
Thanks again for taking a stand in favor of cable TV
choice in east county!
* These petitions are intended for residents of these
specific communities only. If you do not live in any of the
