Greetings,

The final touches on station construction are beginning to wrap up in Big Lake, Elk River, Anoka, Coon Rapids-Riverdale and Minneapolis, but a lot of work still must be done to ensure smooth and safe service.

Metro Transit, which will operate Northstar commuter rail service, has begun testing Northstar locomotives and passenger cars along the tracks between Big Lake and Downtown Minneapolis. Please remember that for your safety Northstar stations remain off-limits to the public. Viewing trains only should be done from a distance.

Your safety is our top priority, so we encourage you to review our new safety materials to help you get ready to ride the line. Youth safety materials are available at this link as well.

Also check out http://www.mn-getonboard.org/news_video.html from the first day of train testing and some of the final station construction work.

Construction on the Fridley station also is progressing well. The station's platform access points and parking facilities are coming together quickly. We still plan to have this station open when Northstar service begins late this year. To follow the progress of the Fridley station and to receive Northstar Project updates and how-to-ride information visit www.mn-GetOnBoard.com.

Thanks to supporters like you, we will be celebrating the start of Northstar Commuter Rail service later this year.

Sincerely,

Dan Erhart
