Greetings, It's time to continue breaking ground on the future of Minnesota transportation - Northstar Commuter Rail! Construction of the Northstar station in Elk River will be in full swing in the coming weeks and will be complete in time for the beginning of Northstar service from Big Lake to downtown Minneapolis in November 2009. Reaching this milestone would have been impossible without the persistence of supporters like you, so we hope you can help us break ground on your local Northstar station at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 22 at the current Northstar Commuter Coach Park & Ride off of Highway 10 and 171st Avenue. Please click here to RSVP by Thursday, August 21. The event will include remarks from local, state and federal officials. An informal reception will follow, during which you can see new information about Northstar. When Northstar Commuter Rail begins service in late 2009, commuters may buy their tickets and board Northstar trains at stations in Big Lake, Elk River, Anoka, Coon Rapids and downtown Minneapolis.
