Greetings,

Mother Nature may be struggling to jump into spring, but the Northstar Commuter Rail 2008 construction season has already officially begun!

Earlier today, public officials and supporters of Northstar gathered to break ground for the first commuter rail station in Minnesota--the Coon Rapids-Riverdale station. To see pictures from the event and for more details, click here.

Over the next several months, construction will pick up speed as ground is broken for the stations in Big Lake (scheduled for May 6), Anoka (scheduled for late May) and Elk River (scheduled for later this summer). Work will also continue this summer on the Downtown Minneapolis Ballpark Station, where work crews are extending the Hiawatha Light Rail Line to connect with Northstar. Significant progress has also been made on the vehicle maintenance facility in Big Lake.

With all of this work underway, things are on track to get Minnesota's first commuter rail line in motion by the end of 2009. Thanks for your continued support, and let's get ready to ride the line in 2009!

Sincerely,

Dan Erhart
