Tuesday July 15 Transportation Alternatives 4th Annual Summer Benefit This year Transportation Alternatives will honor activist Mary Beth Kelly with the David Gurin Award for Improving Biking and Walking in New York City. Randy Cohen, author of The Ethicist column in the New York Times Magazine, will deliver the keynote address. Seasonal menu and wine pairing. Vegetarian option will be available. The exciting new program, called Williamsburg Walks, was developed by stakeholders in the North Brooklyn community with the guidance of Transportation Alternatives adn overwhelmingly approved by the community board and NYCDOT. Although it is only an experimental, temporary street closure, Williamsburg Walks bodes well for North Brooklyn residents and other livable streets supporters throughout New York City.
