What is Congregation Partnership & Advocacy (CP&A)?
Congregational Partnership and Advocacy (CP&A) is committed to the LSS vision that "all people have the opportunity to live and work in community with dignity, safety and hope." This vision guides us in our work of building cohesive communities, characterized by organizations and individuals that care about, look out for, and work for the mutual benefit of one another.
As a faith-based organization, LSS joins with a broad diversity of faith traditions and others who share our commitment to the common good to side with those, advocate for those, be generous toward those--love those--who are disadvantaged. That tradition of caring for the neighbor has a long history in Minnesota in both the private sector as well as in public policy.
Together we can acheive the goal of supporting public policies which reflect our belief that "it is the Creator's intent that all people are provided those things that protect human dignity and make for healthy life: adequate food and shelter, meaningful work, safe communities, healthcare, and education." A Common Foundation: Shared Principles for Work on Overcoming Poverty. By talking your neighbors, friends, family and faith community about our shared values of dignity for all. Please join us to build positive and strong connections with our elected officials!
What is the Movement of Hope?
The Movement of Hope aims to unify people of faith and conscience aroudn the achievable goal to end child, family and youth homelessness. Together, Minnesota's Movement of Hope will transform communities by linking the importance of sharing our God-given resources, serving one another, and raising our collective voice to advocate for a full life in community for all ~ especially for children. The Movement of Hope shares in common with the six ELCA Synods in MN and a growing number of ecumenical and community partners the goal of A Minnesota Without Poverty by 2020.
