Dear Friend,
Yesterday Senator Harry Reid, Senator
Chuck Schumer and I announced plans to introduce the Health
Insurance Industry Antitrust Enforcement Act as an amendment
to the Senate's final health care reform bill. Every Senator
will soon have an opportunity to put people before profits by
voting to end the out-dated antitrust exemption for insurance
companies.
That means I need your help to make
sure every U.S. Senator hears from their
constituents.
Please forward a message to your Senators today,
urging them to vote "Yea" on the Health Insurance Industry
Antitrust Enforcement Act amendment to the health care
reform bill.
President Obama's weekly address to
the nation on Saturday highlighted some of the insurance
industry's deceiving tactics I told you about last week, aimed
at derailing reform. The President also offered his support for
our efforts to review what he called the insurance industry's
"privileged exception from our antitrust laws."
I hope you'll take a few minutes to
watch President Obama's remarks:

and urge your Senators to support the Health Insurance
Industry Antitrust Enforcement Act amendment to the health
care reform bill.
With your support -- and with the
President backing our efforts -- I am hopeful we can finally
force insurance companies to compete for customers like
virtually every other business in America.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
 Patrick
