Greetings,
Just moments ago,
on the 101st day of the budget impasse, the Senate
passed the budget bill that was previously adopted by the House.
On the whole, children’s programs avoided damaging
cuts. In some instances, investments for children’s
programs actually increased.
This was all
possible thanks to your hard work throughout this extended
budget season. YOU answered the call many times and
supported efforts to make children a priority for the budget.
YOU spoke and budget negotiators and rank and file
members listened. Thank you.
Details on the
budget will be provided in the next issue of Capitol Watch for
Children, which we hope to issue shortly.
