As your constituent, I feel strongly that the budget impasse must come to an end. Programs that support children and families are crumbling and may never recover.

Today you will be asked to consider a tax code bill which will provide adequate funds for the FY 2009-2010 general fund budget. The bill is not perfect, but it does one primary thing - it provides adequate funding to move the budget process along. I respectfully urge you to pass the measure so we can quickly bring the budget impasse to an end and start funding critical programs for children and families again.
