Tell Congress: Fight Cybercrime
Three weeks ago, Congress passed legislation to renew the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), a highly successful program that provides health insurance to millions of kids across America.
One week later, President Bush vetoed SCHIP. But on Thursday, October 18 the House of Representatives will vote to try to override the President's veto.
Renewing SCHIP would provide 10 million American children with the health care they deserve. That's why it passed Congress with broad bipartisan support, and why I'm hopeful that with your help, we can override President Bush's veto tomorrow. We've already got enough votes in the Senate, and we need to sway only 20 more House Republicans to follow suit.
Please forward an e-mail to your Representative, urging him or her to override President Bush's veto, before Thursday's House vote!

Subject: Override President Bush's SCHIP Veto!
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
I urge you to vote to override President Bush's veto of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) reauthorization bill.
Renewing SCHIP would provide 10 million American children with the health care they deserve. That's why the majority of Americans support this program, and why it passed both houses of Congress with broad bipartisan support.
Thursday's override vote is an opportunity for Congress to come together on a bipartisan basis to tell the President: America needs a helping hand, and working-class, middle-class families deserve health insurance for their children that they can afford. It is unreasonable to ask a family making $60,000 a year without employer-provided coverage to spend $800 or $900 each month on health insurance.
As your constituent, I urge you to override President Bush's veto and support the reauthorization of SCHIP on Thursday.
Sincerely,
