The College Cost Reduction Act, recently passed by Congress, would cut student interest rates in half -- from the current 6.8% to 3.4% over the next four years -- providing enormous relief to the debt burden borne by America's students. The bill also increases the maximum Pell Grant by $500 to a total of $4,800 next year and to $5,400 by 2012.

That's why I urge you to sign into law the College Cost Reduction Act, sweeping new legislation that would slash student loan interest rates and increase Pell Grants for college students.
The College Cost Reduction Act recently passed by Congress provides more than $20 billion in additional college financial aid -- the largest increase since the G.I. Bill.
