Congregations Building Community (CBC) immediately organized with the Board of Education in Greeley, CO, on December 12, 2006, as federal agents detained 261 employees of the local Swift meat packing plant. As a result, every student in the sytem was picked up by a relative to avoid their return to an empty home. CBC continues to organize affected families to get the resource they need. See More>>

Civic Leadership Northern Valley Sponsoring Committee (NVSC), a PICO affiliate based in Sacramento, CA, has guided nearly 1,500 eligible immigrants through the grueling process of becoming U.S. citizens while training them to become leaders in their community. These new citizen leaders are putting their skills to work improving the drinking water in Colusa County, one of the poorest counties in California. See More>>
Eliminating Predatory Immigration Fraud Community Action Project (CAP) in Brooklyn has mounted a campaign to eliminate the crime of fraud against immigrants seeking legal advice. A working group comprising government agencies from both political parties, the law enforcement community, elected offiicials, and immigrant advocacy organizations created a path for the crime to be reported without risking the status identification of the victim.
