San Diego Organizing Project held a public meeting to focus attention on increasing graduation rates in high schools serving low-income youth in the city. The School Superintendent committed that 85 percent incoming freshman at Lincoln High School will graduate in 4 years with the credits to go onto a 4 year college or university. Currently, in that neighborhood less than 20% of all students graduate with those credits. The District also committed to a district wide focus of dramatically improving the number of African American and Latino students who are college bound after graduation.
