Dear Advocate,
Congratulations! Thank you for all of your hard work. Last
week, tireless efforts of activists like you from across the
country encouraged the Senate to vote and renew the Children's
Health Insurance Program (CHIP) by a veto-proof vote of 68 to
31.
Over two-thirds of the Senate shrugged off repeated
Presidential threats and demonstrated that the health of
America's children is not a Republican or Democratic issue, but
a bipartisan issue that unites the American people.
In large part, the decisive vote in the Senate was a direct
reaction to the outpouring of grassroots support for our kids'
health that has been felt in every Congressional office for
months.
This is your victory!

The Senate vote follows last Wednesday's equally important
225 to 204 vote in the House of Representatives to renew the
program and cover millions of children.

them, depending on their vote, how thankful or disappointed you
are for their actions on behalf of children.
There is more work to be done before this legislation is
enacted into law, but today, thanks to your hard work, we
celebrate an important intermediate victory for children's
health care in this country.
To all of you - a huge thank you! Your efforts made a
tremendous difference. It could not have happened without your
support.
