Tell Toyota to follow Google's lead and add plugs to their hybrids!
Google has just launched a multi-million dollar investment in plug-in hybrids and technology, but thanks to the foot-dragging of automakers like Toyota, it's almost impossible for anyone who doesn't work at Google to get a plug-in car for themselves.
Automakers have refused to add plugs to their hybrid cars, and so if consumers want a plug-in hybrid, they have to buy a regular hybrid and THEN go through the expensive process of having another company convert their hybrid to a plug-in.
This foot-dragging is especially outrageous because Toyota -- supposedly an environmental leader -- is one of the main obstacles to the large-scale manufacture of plug-in cars. It's high time for automakers to hurry up and meet Google in the 21st century by building plug-in hybrids, the best existing solution to gas-powered vehicles.
Let's get as many people as possible to let Toyota know that the public is demanding plug-in hybrid cars be made available. Fill out the form to the right to send your letter to Toyota North America CEO, Jim Press!
