DefCon: Campaign to Defend The Constitution. Because The Religious Right Is Wrong
During our stem cell campaign, DefCon America ran two full page ads in the New York Times in May and June. Click here to see the ad from May. Click here to see the ad from June.

We also released our first video on YouTube featuring DefCon advisory board member and former NARAL head Kate Michelman's incredible story and by doing all we could to empower the millions of Americans for whom we are fighting. Click here to view the video.

To be sure, the fight for health and hope is not over. In the coming months, this fight will move to the states, where citizens are tired of waiting for a misguided President to do the right thing and have taken the issue into their own hands. Stay tuned to the DefCon Blog for updates.

We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Campaign to Defend the Constitution.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Samuel Alito has developed an extensive, right-wing judicial record on many issues important to the DefCon community, including threats to civil rights, privacy rights and religious freedom.

His record should be of concern to every American who cares about fundamental freedoms of the individual. As the confirmation hearings for Samuel Alito begin, DefCon must send a loud and clear message to our Senators that we oppose Alito.

In a last-minute move, Sen. John Kerry has declared that he will move to filibuster Alito. Kerry's call was immediately echoed by a number of Democrats, including fellow Massachusetts Sen. Kennedy. Encourage your Senators to stand up for our rights and support the filibuster by calling the Senate Switchboard: 888-355-3588 or 888-818-6641
