a. Who can sign the call?

 

The call is intended to be signed by rabbis of the American Jewish community.  Cantors are also welcome to sign.  If you would like to invite a rabbi you know, please click here for a sample letter of invitation. 

 

If you are a rabbinical or cantorial student and you would like to support this effort, please email rabbisseekpeace@btvshalom.org.

 

b. How will signers' names be used?

               

Signers of the call agree to the use of their name in the following contexts: this website, an ad published in one or more Jewish papers in September, copies of the letter that will be sent to Congress and the Administration, press statements regarding the letter, and in letters to major Jewish communal organizations.

 

The inclusion of congregational or organizational affiliation is for identification purposes only.

 

c. Who wrote the call?

 

The call was written by Rabbi Toba Spitzer, of Congregation Dorshei Tzedek in Massachusetts.  Rabbi Spitzer is a member of Brit Tzedek's Rabbinic Cabinet.

Brit Tzedek v'Shalom, the Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, is the nation's largest Jewish grassroots peace organization, with a network of over 34,000 supporters deeply committed to Israel's well-being through the achievement of a negotiated settlement to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to regional Arab-Israeli peace.
