MEMO TO CONGRESS: WE NEED YOUR HELP
The U.S. Congress is actively considering legislation that would encourage states to establish catastrophe funds, funded by insurance company dollars not taxpayer dollars, which would provide a backstop to the private insurance market if the Carolinas were to be hit by a catastrophic hurricane or other natural disaster.
This fund would assure homeowners that resources would be available if the unthinkable happens here.
Use this page to automatically send an e-mail to your U.S. Senators and your member of the U.S. House of Representatives urging them to enact comprehensive legislation that protects our families from the devastation of a massive catastrophe.
Please sign up and speak up today so that we all can be protected before the next catastrophe strikes.

My thoughts to protect the Carolinas
|
Dear [ Decision Maker ],
Although catastrophic devastation may be far from the minds of many Americans, the fact is, nearly 6-in-10 American families live in areas exposed to catastrophes like massive hurricanes or major earthquakes.
Although two full years have passed since Hurricane Katrina delivered a wake-up call to Washington, we still haven't seen a comprehensive program put in place that boosts mitigation, improves homeowner education and provides the kind of financial backstop that our families need to repair, rebuild and recover in the aftermath of a massive natural disaster.
The House of Representatives will soon consider legislation to help all American families who could be affected by catastrophe. I hope you will support those efforts.
Sincerely, [Your name] [Your address]
