We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.
The short explanation of this alert was:
President Bush recently vetoed the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), which provides millions of American children with medical care. The President's priorities are way out of line -- with the same money we're spending to fund operations for 41 days in Iraq, we could provide health insurance for ten million kids in America for a full year.
The Senate has the necessary 67 votes to override the veto, but we still need to convince about 25 Republicans in the House of Representatives to change their votes and reauthorize SCHIP.
Please write a letter-to-the-editor, urging Republican Members of Congress to override President Bush's veto and renew health insurance for our children!
