RAN and our friends Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, Appalachian Voices, Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Rising Tide, SEAC and SDS had a major presence at both the Citi and Bank of America annual shareholder's meetings this year. Citi executives agreed to join us for flight over Appalachia to witness first hand the devastation caused by mountaintop removal coal mining.

Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis, however, ignored our calls for action and didn't have any meaningful response to frontline activists who told him directly how destructive mountaintop removal coal mining--funded by Bank of America--has been in their communities.

Ken Lewis was visibly frustrated at the meeting when speaker after speaker asked him about coal and mountaintop removal.
