Call on President Bush Not to Ban Aid Through the Cuban Council of Churches --
An advance draft of the 2nd report to President Bush by the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba recommends that the U.S. Commerce Department no longer grant licenses for humanitarian aid to the Cuban people which would go through the Cuban Council of Churches.
Action: Send an urgent message to President Bush with copies to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez urging them not to violate religious freedom by putting an embargo on aid to vulnerable Cuban children, women and men through the Cuban Council of Churches.
