Less than seven days to pass congestion pricing and bring better transit and traffic relief to NY!

Remind your assemblymember that your neighborhood is full of people who rely on subways, buses and trains every day, and improvements to that service are a necessity for them. I am a constituent writing to ask that you support congestion pricing, and to give you information specific to your district.

Far more of us in your district take mass transit every day (25.3% of commuters) to Manhattan below 86th Street, than drive (2.3% of commuters). Only 35% of households in your district even own a vehicle, and the average annual income for these households is $50,569, as opposed to the 65% of households without a vehicle which have an average annual income of only $24,582.

The overwhelming majority of your constituents stand to greatly benefit from the mass transit improvements that will come with a fully-funded MTA Capital Plan, including:
*Increased capacity on the C-line, to be added immediately
*Rehabilitation of the Central Avenue station on the M-line
*Structural rehabilitation of the elevated section between 111 Street and Cypress Hills station on the J/M-line
*Structure overcoating between Cypress Hills and Broadway Junction stations on the J/M-line and between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway stations on the L-line
*Upgrade to the PA systems at the Flushing Avenue and Myrtle-Willoughby Avenues stations on the G-line
*Flooding improvements to the Crosstown Line
*Fencing for the East New York yard 
*Jamaica Capacity Improvements for enhanced Long Island Railroad service for Brooklyn and Queens customers.
*A Southeastern Brooklyn Alternatives Study to evaluate potential solutions to address long travel times and lack of access to the subway system for travel to Downtown Brooklyn and the Manhattan Central Business District.

Without congestion pricing, the MTA cannot afford to make these improvements. There is no time to waste - in order to make New York City ready for the challenges ahead, please follow the facts and support congestion pricing for New York City and our community.
