What is this about?
Last year, the Administration proposed seven Medicaid regulations which, combined, will cut federal funding for the program by an estimated $50 billion over the next five years. These cuts affect hospitals, doctors, medical students, services for people with disabilities, case management services, and transportation services for children.
Some of the most vulnerable people on Medicaid, including children with special health care needs and people with disabilities, will be harmed the most by these cuts.
On April 23, the House overwhelmingly passed H.R. 5613 which will delay the implementation of the regulations until next year. Now it is up to the Senate.
The President has already threatened to veto.
