The short explanation of this alert was:

The 2010 Executive Budget, released on January 19th, contains both good and bad news.

The good news is that Pre-K was flat-funded and child care was removed from the Flexible Fund. But the very bad news is that funding for other children’s services was drastically reduced.  Proposed cuts include funding for programs that prevent child abuse, keep children safe while their parents work, and engage youth after the school day ends.

It’s time to make your voices heard! Please send Governor Paterson the message that our children should not be collateral damage in the state's fiscal crisis.
