We believe the Michigan House of Representatives will vote on House Joint Resolution U (The marriage amendment) at 1:00 PM, Tuesday March 9 at the State Capitol.

It is expected that there will be an alternate resolution offered that does not ban domestic partner benefits and civil unions, but still puts the issue of banning marriages for gays and lesbians on the ballot. This is less horrible, but still really horrible.

The following news article also indicates the Christian Coalition has moved a full-time lobbyist in to work against us until the vote on Tuesday and possibly beyond.

So save the date for the marriage vote in the House. The Senate could vote as early as the next day or the day.
