We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Colorado Consumer Health Initiative.

The short explanation of this alert was:

In Colorado, more than 800,000 people lack health insurance but efforts to expand coverage are meaningless if they don’t address the issue of affordability. In August 2008 Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, working in conjunction with the Colorado Voices for Coverage partners and the Colorado Center on Law and Policy worked to collect and analyze data about what Coloradans can really afford to pay for health care.

The report, The Cost of Care: Can Coloradans Afford Health Care, shows that many Colorado families have little or nothing to pay for health care, and, in many cases, health care costs force families to make financial tradeoffs with other necessary expenses.

health care that Coloradans can afford
