California is on the verge of enacting important legislation to protect some of our state’s most vulnerable aquatic species.  But it’s up to the Governor to act. That's why we're asking you to contact Governor Schwarzenegger and urge him to sign AB 1032, which places important new restrictions on suction dredging gold mining in our rivers.

Gold miners are actively lobbying the Governor to veto AB 1032.  If the bill is vetoed, the California Department of Fish and Game would be powerless to regulate mechanized gold mining that degrades the quality of sensitive fish habitats.

So please take a moment now to send the message below to the Governor urging him to prioritize California’s wild river habitats. No niche industry should be allowed to threaten the survival of California’s endangered fish species.
