Support Video Choice in Mansfield

Verizon is bringing the most advanced fiber optic network in the nation directly to the doors of homes in Mansfield. Our FiOS network contains enough bandwidth to offer video, Internet and voice services to all Mansfield residents in the very near future. However, to take advantage of FiOS TV, in addition to FiOS Internet and phone service, the Board of Selectmen must grant Verizon a cable TV license. Mansfield town officials have scheduled a public hearing to discuss and vote on the video license. The hearing will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Mansfield Town Hall, Floor 3, 6 Park Row, Mansfield. We hope that you can attend to voice your support.

Once  a license is issued, Mansfield residents will join consumers in nearly 80 other Massachusetts communities who have FiOS TV as a superior choice for cable service.  If you are interested in more cable competition and everything our FiOS technology offers, please send an email directly to the town officials asking them move quickly through the cable TV licensing process. A sample letter is provided for your convenience. Please add personal information and comments to customize your letter, if you prefer.

Dear [ Decision Maker ],

As a local resident, I am writing to ask the Board of Selectmen to move quickly to bring Mansfield consumers another choice for cable TV.

Verizon is building its advanced fiber optic network right here in town. The network, which brings fiber optic TV, Internet and telephone connections right into our living rooms, is the best in the nation. Today, Massachusetts residents in nearly 80 communities are benefiting from cable choice and the future of technology.
