We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Verizon is bringing the most advanced fiber optic network in the nation directly to the doors of homes in Kingston. Our FiOS network contains enough bandwidth to offer video, Internet and voice services to all Kingston residents in the very near future. However, to take advantage of FiOS TV, in addition to FiOS Internet and phone service, the Board of Selectmen must grant Verizon a cable TV license.

The Board of Selectmen met to discuss the license on Tuesday, Jan. 20.  They have continued the meeting to further discuss and potentially vote on the license on Tuesday, July 7 at 7:15 p.m. at the Town House, 26 Evergreen St., Kingston.

Once a license is issued, Kingston residents will join consumers in over 95 other Massachusetts communities that have FiOS TV as a superior choice for cable service.  If you are interested in more cable competition and everything our FiOS technology offers, please send an email directly to the town officials asking them to approve the license. A sample letter is provided for your convenience. For more information, please contact Stephanie Lee at stephanie.s.lee@verizon.com.

Thank you!
