Thanks to the tremendous involvement of activists like yourself, the Innocence Protection Act (IPA), became the first piece of federal death penalty reform legislation to pass Congress and be signed into law. The Justice Project and our allies led a five year campaign to ensure the passage of this unprecedented legislation, which will help make sure that the criminal justice system accurately identifies and convicts the real perpetrators of heinous crimes and that no more innocent people are wrongly sentenced to death. Now we are asking for your help to ensure that the IPA is given the funding required in FY 2007 to effectively implement the law's important programs!
