We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Verizon has been working hard in Hull, upgrading our network to deliver all fiber-optic connections to the homes of residents.  This new network, called Verizon FiOS, already offers consumers and small businesses in town crystal clear phone calls, lightning-fast internet service, and soon, a brand new option for cable TV.  To provide FiOS TV, we must first obtain a license from the Town of Hull.  We’ve been working on terms since October, 2007, and have been unable to come to an agreement despite the fair terms we have presented the town.  We are hoping to conclude negotiations in the near future.

Meanwhile, residents in more than 95 Massachusetts communities -- including neighbors in Hingham and Marshfield – are able to choose between Comcast and Verizon for their cable TV.

The Board of Selectmen held a public hearing on April 14 to discuss Verizon's petition for a video license.  We are working on resolving some outstanding issues, and will meet again once we have come to terms of an agreement.

We’re ready to offer FiOS TV in Hull immediately.  If you want cable choice and competition, act now by sending an email directly to the town officials asking them to issue a cable TV license as soon as possible.  For more information, please contact Stephanie Lee at stephanie.s.lee@verizon.com.

Thank you!
