Mazel Tov President Obama!
I will accept this award as a call to
action... President Barack Obama, October 9,
2009
Today President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in
recognition of his "extraordinary efforts in order to strengthen
dialogue in the world (and) to resolve conflicts by
negotiations."
In particular, the Committee highlighted President Obama's
efforts to spark movement on Mideast peace and to "promote the
positive processes that have started." Send President Obama a letter of
congratulations!
President Obama's presidency and has helped restore America's
image in the world, setting the stage for a negotiated two-state
peace in the Middle East. With his continued leadership and
action, Mideast peace has the potential to become reality.
In a press conference responding to his Peace Prize award,
the President called on the nations of the world to confront
21st century challenges, mentioning his unwavering commitment to
finally realize the rights of all Israelis and Palestinians to
live in peace and security in nations of their own.
The best way to congratulate President Obama
is to show him that his efforts matter. Let him know that you
share the optimism of the Nobel Prize Committee and the hope
that he will go the full nine yards for Mideast peace. Tell
the President, Mazel Tov!
We look forward to the day when this prize is shared with
Israeli and Palestinian leadership against the backdrop of two
states living side-by-side in peace and security.
