Dear Friend of Brit Tzedek,

We hope you have heard by now about the upcoming J Street conference:

Driving Change, Securing Peace

Sun. October 25-Wed. October 28

Washington DC

which Brit Tzedek is proudly cosponsoring. The conference will include an exciting line-up of nationally known speakers, engaging workshops (two by Brit Tzedek) and advocacy visits on Capitol Hill. For a preliminary program and list of speaker highlights, see:

http://www.jstreet.org/page/conference-driving-change-securing-peace

http://www.jstreet.org/page/whos-coming-j-street-conference

The conference will be significant in bringing together more than 1,000 Jewish activists from all across the country calling for President Obama and Congress to make Israeli-Palestinian peace a priority. We want you to be among them.

Brit Tzedek intends to have a strong presence at this event, and the Boston chapter expects to have a delegation of at least 30.  So far, 14 Boston Brit Tzedek members have already let us know they plan to attend, among them:

Bonnie Alpert * Diane Balser * Stan Fleischman * Deborah Fogel * David Green * Jonathan Jacoby * Judy Jarashow * Debbie Katz * Lynne Layton * Larry Rosenberg

Please join them! As a member of Brit Tzedek in good standing, you will receive a 20 percent discount for registering via our website at

http://btvshalom.org/jstreetconference/

To make it easier, staff at Brit Tzedek’s national office are going to do their best to match attendees up with D.C. Brit Tzedek members for home hospitality (although the crush of attendees from across the country will make that challenging, so if you have someone to stay with in D.C., please do). Locally, we'll try to connect people who are looking to drive down and share rides. If you're planning to travel by car and are willing to take passengers, please write to boston@btvshalom.org

There will also be a Brit Tzedek hospitality suite where you can meet fellow Brit Tzedekers from around the country, and we'll try to arrange a restaurant dinner for New England Brit Tzedek attendees.

For more on cooperation between Brit Tzedek and J Street, see:

Hope to see you in D.C.!

And to get involved locally, see below about an important Brit Tzedek event series, that will take place in Boston in the week prior to the J Street conference.

Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Gazan gynecologist who has devoted his life to medicine and the reconciliation of Israelis and Palestinians. In early 2009, Dr. Abuelaish tragically lost three of his daughters in an Israeli mortar attack on his home.
