Dear Brit Tzedek Member,
We are writing to ask you to send a thank-you to Rep. Frank
for writing to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in support of
Israel's consul general in Boston, Nadav Tamir.
 As you may know, the
Boston Chapter took a very visible public stand in the
controversy over Tamir's memorandum to his government attesting
to the effect that the Israeli government's stand on West Bank
settlements is having on Israeli-U.S. relations. We
are pleased to report that Rep. Frank stepped forward in the
course of this matter and sent a strong letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu in
support of Tamir. Frank wrote not only of his "high
regard for the work that is being done by the Israeli consul
general in Boston," but went on to say: "I was
sorry to learn that he is being criticized because of his
accurate reporting of significant sentiment in the United
States, including among many of us who have been and will
continue to be firm supporters of an American policy that
recognizes the right of Israel to be a strong, free, Jewish
democratic state. I think it is important that the government of
Israel have a full understanding of the sentiments that may
erode that support." Please thank Rep. Frank for
writing to the Prime Minister.

Subject: Thank you Rep. Frank for Supporting Israeli Consul
Tamir
Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],
As a Jewish constituent and strong supporter of Israel, I
want to thank you for your letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu in
support of Nadav Tamir, Israel's consul general in
Boston.
Thank you for underlining that Tamir was
performing an important service to his country by providing a
clear picture of sentiments in the U.S. regarding Israel's
stance on the settlements, and for reminding us all that our
true friends are those who tell us the truth.
Thank you
for being a true friend to Israel.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
