Thomas G. Mitchell, an expert on comparative studies of the Northern Ireland and Oslo peace process, will speak on lessons from the 1998 Good Friday Irish peace agreement, brokered by current Middle East Peace Envoy, Senator George Mitchell, as they relate to today's Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts. His commentary will also include an overview of the Belfast agreement and its similarities with the situation in Israel-Palestine.

Thomas Mitchell has a BA from Hebrew University and PhD from the University of Southern California, both in International Relations. He has published five books including, Native vs. Settler: Ethnic Conflict in Israel/Palestine, Northern Ireland, and South Africa and the soon to be released, When Peace Fails. He writes on the MeretzUSA and Realistic Dove blogs.
