Please join Mitchell Plitnick, the
Director of the USA Office of B’Tselem, The Israeli
Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories,
who will give an update on the humanitarian situation on
the ground in Gaza and discuss the response of B'Tselem and
other NGOs, both in the Mideast and the U.S. He'll focus on
the need for accountability by all parties and specifically
examine the response of the U.S. government and
the international community, what it's been and what
ideally it could be.
BIO
Mitchell Plitnick is the Director of the USA
Office of B’Tselem: The Israeli Center for Human
Rights in the Occupied Territories. Prior to joining
B'Tselem, he was a widely published and respected policy
analyst. He holds a degree in Middle Eastern Studies and wrote
his thesis on Israeli historiography.
Plitnick has spoken regularly all over the country on
human rights, current issues and history. His writing has
appeared in the Jordan Times, Israel Insider, UN Observer,
Middle East Report, Global Dialogue, Zeek Magazine, Minneapolis
Star-Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Outlook, and in a
regular column in Tikkun Magazine. He has been
interviewed by many news outlets including PBS News
Hour, the O’Reilly Factor, and CNBC
Asia.
