I thought you might be interested in learning more about the Alliance for Public Technology (APT).  APT is an alliance of individuals and nonprofit organizations whose shared mission is to foster access to affordable, usable high-speed telecommunications services.  The U.S. is lagging behind many other countries in the deployment of broadband services, and the people who don't have it yet are often the people who would benefit the most from its life-enhancing applications.
	
APT makes a difference by educating consumers on the many complex issues that affect broadband access in the U.S., and at the same time bringing together consumers, policy makers, and industry leaders to promote open dialogue about the opportunities and obstacles that we face in a broadband world.

APT does not advocate any one position or entity, but represents the interests of all consumers. Any person or non-profit organization can become a member to support our mission, and anyone can receive our information and attend events.
