PROTEST HOME DEMOLITIONS IN RAFAH
| Activists At Work! Results Of Your Efforts: |
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you for your participation in JVP's campaign to protest the Israeli actions in Rafah. Israel has suspended its activities in Rafah, although its forces are still surrounding the city. Many reports cited international pressure, along with Israeli protests, as the main reasons that Israel terminated the operation earlier than it said it would.
This action was one of our most successful. Nearly 2000 of you participated directly through our web site and e-mail. We are sure that many of you forwarded the alert and got many more folks to send their protests to American and Israeli decision-makers.
A total of 14,631 letters were sent to decision-makers. Many of you noticed that our initial group of targets included bouncing e-mails for Condi Rice, Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld. The e-mail addresses we had on file for them were correct. The problem was on their end, likely due to the volume they were receiving not only because of Israeli actions but because of the Iraq torture scandal. JVP will make sure that the next time we have their functioning or updated e-mail addresses.
Again, we thank you for your participation. It did make a difference.
