A-823
Good Afternoon, As of this morning a total of 239 people took part in our action alert. I would like to thank all of you who have, and especially to all who have and have also sent it to folks that they know and asked them to participate in our cause. To those who have not, I cannot emphasize how important it is to take part as it only takes 5 minutes of your time. In order for us, NJOHVA to represent the motorized community efficiently we need the membership to take part, so please get everyone you know to sign up and TAKE ACTION. That being said we are facing a an issue that if not worked out can and will end our sport as we know in New Jersey. If that is not what you want then please get involved. Over the next few weeks we will be sending out action alerts, asking you to make phone calls and maybe even visit your legislative district and let them know you are not happy with the assault and unfair taxes on the OHV community. *** PLEASE BE COURTIOUS WHEN CALLING GIVE THEM YOUR NAME, THE BILL NUMBER YOU ARE CALLING ABOUT A-823, AND TELL THEM YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO VOTE NO WHEN IT COMES UP FOR A FLOOR VOTE. And tell them you are disappointed that they allowed this to get this far. Chairman- John Wisniewski - 732-316-1885 Speaker Joseph J. Roberts 856-742-7600
As a constituent and a member of New Jersey Off-Highway Vehicle Association (NJOHVA), I write to make you aware of my support for responsible off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation. I enjoy OHV recreation and know first-hand that it is a legitimate and sustainable form of recreation on federal lands also viewed by NJ DEP and Green Acres as a legitimate form of recreation. The reasons people ride OHVs on public lands are as varied as the people who ride them. For some, motorized recreation provides an opportunity to spend a family day in the outdoors; others enjoy the opportunity to see much more in a single day than would be possible on foot; some use their OHV to access remote camping, fishing and hunting locations, but all OHV enthusiasts need your help to ensure continued access for our form of recreation. I understand the need for management of OHV activities, but I would like to be clear that effective management does not equal wholesale closures and banning. The U.S. Forest Service is in the process of developing designated systems of trails and routes for OHV use, as both agencies understand that continued access is contingent on effective management, so should the state of New Jersey. Both agencies also understand that OHV recreation has a place on public lands and that motorized recreation can be provided for in an environmentally sustainable manner. Thank you for your consideration. Please use any other hearings or votes as an opportunity to highlight responsible OHV recreation as a positive, legitimate use of public lands, and to vote NO on Assembly bill A-823 and Senate bills S-2055 and S-1510. Sincerely, John Parrinello (JP) Advocacy Director
